Page 8/23 has:
Emergency flashing (turn signals) active
Emergency Brake flashing (brake light) active [mercs tend to have this. Looks way better than flashing hazard lights]

Component: KOMBI H05 0404 (1917 - Instruments)
Adaptation
Function: When you switch on the contact of the hands to the tachometer and speedometer
up and turned back. Useless but fun:) Also known as needle sweep. This
function can unfortunately not be turned on Ibiza 6J. For the Fabia II GL again though!
See YouTube for example, search for "needle sweep. Eg. II for the Fabia Greenline.

Also, regarding folding mirrors (quoting from seat-online.nl):

However, more background information on electrical systems in the 6J. So it is not possible to fold the mirrors using the remote control because of the mechanism is not via a computer but directly through the button on the door.

I think what this means is that the switch actually sends current to the mirror motor to fold and unfold it directly not though a computer or module.

On the Leon and others the switch probably sends a signal via the can bus to a control module which in turn sends the current to the mirror motor. This is why it can be enabled on the Leon.

Ibiza:
Switch----Mirror (basic)

Leon
Switch----some sort of module where settings can be changed with VCDS----mirror (more complex)

The way the folding mirror switch operates I though it was via the computer.

I thought a direct connection would mean that you could fold the mirrors. Then remove the key. Then turn the switch back to the unfolded position so that when you insert the key again they would unfold but that doesn't happen. The position of the switch and movement of the switch only registers when the ignition is on (or very soon after the key has been removed).

But if the option isn't there what can you do!

There's a note in my user manual (page 102) saying that the mirror fold is not active above 40 km/h. This means that the control is quite sophisticated and probably done by some computer device (how many are there on this car I wonder). Probably just need the right software/firmware.

I don't believe the mirrors fold on the new Polo.

On an Audi A1 for an extra £225 you can have:-
"Door mirrors – heated and folding. Includes heated washer nozzles and "folding on locking’ function"

So maybe the software is there on recent cars?

I bet most of the electronics are common between Ibiza and A1 - even the pedals look identical in the pictures I've seen!!

By the way have you ever taken an Audi A1 SE and added in all the options that are included in an Ibiza 1.2 TSI SE with Winter Pack? I did and it costs loads.

Should be, coming home is when we have to MANUALLY flash the brights for a second and when you open the door the headlights then stay on. Noticed though the tail lights don't stay on with the headlights like on the golf.

This is correct. I tried folding the mirrors whilst going more than 40 km/h and they don't work. It obviously is linked into various systems.

Yurp!! Ill see what neat little tricks I can get it to do before you come :D

Any chance I can jump on this bandwagon mate and maybe if you get some free time I could pop to you and you could activate the locking beep for me? :help:

**Guessing it will work with the sport model without an alarm?!**
