hi new to vag com can someone tell me which blocks i need to log for intake temps and what blocks would be useful to log any help would be great

What year is your car?

What's the engine code and ECU part number? (VAG-COM show the latter as "VAG Number" when you access the ECU).

You sure? After some digging, it looks to me like that ECU belongs on a 50 HP ALD engine.

Taken from my wifes car.... certainly not 50bhp though

OK, obviously there is a big difference between

6K0 906 032 A -- which is used on a 50 hp ALD engine -- and
6K0 906 032 AA -- which is used on a 150 hp AYP engine.

I would expect the AYP to follow the normal "modern" petrol-engine measuring block scheme:
