Hi everyone I am just about to order a new camshaft adjuster control valve and the housing to try and fix the long cranking issue I am having daily at the moment with my 2.0 Cuna ea288 tdi engine, i haven’t noticed any power loss when driving nor any vibrating at higher revs so am thinking it’s the vvt sticky valve solution i am seeing on here a lot.

Similar to this issue the engine also sometimes stalls after it is started in the morning (sometimes with long cranking before and sometimes not) this stalling is instantaneous after the start up or the period between starting and stalling the idle bounces erratically before dropping to 0 with the glow plug light flashing as the engine stalls out, after around 30 seconds of waiting the engine starts up and runs fine, and the issue won’t return until the following morning

the glow plug light doesn’t appear before turning the key to start the engine and the ignition is turned on around a minute before starting the engine , i have used a code reading device and found the only code that appears when this issue happens with the long cranking before and then stalling after start up is actually the active cruise control having a range detection error, which i am unable to clear until around 30 minutes or so of driving- not a clue how it relates but only time it appears is under these circumstances with the long cranking and stalling

anyone had any similar experiences and know of any potential fixes please advise
