no, i have seen a few cars with the inlet manifold having a long cube cover over it. if it was the engine cover then i would have said engine cover lol

It's working for me. Here's a couple of pics of one on mine (albeit a bit dark):

You can also get plastic OE LCR ones, both require an LCR supporting metal bracket:

Part #: 06A119518L for the plastic cover and grommits, bracket is separate

They add a nice touch to the bay :)

No, the link you put up is for the carbon fibre cover to the RIGHT of the dipstick, i mean the cube thing, is it not the inlet manifold with a cover over it or is it just been painted

no, you can either polish it your self, take it to a metal poilshers or get it powercoated in a new powder that looks like it has been polished or there is the chrome dipping way
