Scuse the noobie question:cry:

I am thinking about getting a cupra 180 6 speed, and want some pointers for tuning it, have tried searching and nothing seems to jump out at me!

Would like to know in what order modifications should be done, at what point each mod reaches it's limit and what are the limits for the engine, injectors, clutch, gearbox etc?

my lc was tuned as below...

2001 auq engined lc.

dv, sportscat + remap 242bhp

after that its bigger turbo.

320bhp similar torque is about max for engine, rods can fail at around 350bhp

I think the one to have out of the 150/180s is the AGU big port head model but that might be golf only apparently they tune better although the leons with the K03s have a better turbo. For mild tuning it wont matter which you use ie around 220bhp. For more why not by a LCR if you can stretch to it, i love mine even though i waited an extra few months to move my budget from a LC to LCR.

auq comes with ko3s yes. not sure id agree that their that similar.

alot of ko3 turbo cars map to around 200bhp, ko3s cars manage 10-15bhp more. mild tuning every bit counts and the ko3s holds its power band a bit longer. must make some difference for the beeza boys to upgrade between the two.

:p funnily enough i love my lc too. lower insurence, full leather interior, electic memory seats etc...

of course you have to put up with the odd ignorant comment though :D;)
