And they may do a group buy but may not as the may offer is already a very good one.
Call nick and see what he says.

thanks, i will probly get the it mapped when i have a forge007 and a standard airbox/filter , is there any other mods u wud recommend before a map?

I'd recommend up rating the tip as the standard 1 has been known to collapse on re-mapped cars. Forge or THFS are your best bet for a tip.

arr right i have blue Samco silicone pipes from the air filter the guy who i brought the car from said the old one split so he replaced it with these, also some blue pipes coming from the dv. i have heard samco is a good make

A remap should never break a coil pack but it has done in numerous occasions

Your engine code is AMK

A remap will bring to light failing or weak Coil packs, Mafs, Vac and boost lines. I would say budget a min of £150 on top of the price of remap just in case any under laying issues prior to the remap cause your car to run poor.

Some tuning companies offer a complete diagnostic and visual check over prior to tuning the car.

Do not use r tech. I mean this with the greatest of respect but these guys do not know what they are doing. They are the same company as chipped uk and use their maps if you look on there website the pictures are of chipped uk's rolling road. Who falsify figures and the software is poor quality.

They will just max your turbo out at the begining of the revs so it feels fast and will have nothing top end. Seriously keep away from these two places.

This is why they are cheap, pay cheap pay twice. Your basically paying to have some poorly writen software on your car ( when it was viewed by custom code hq they were shocked at the quality of it) these maps dont come anywhere near a proper specialist like cc revo amd jabba etc. Go for a well known trusted brand, you will cause damage to the car!!

Cowboys! Trading standards have been involved many times and ive heard bad stories time after time, dont risk it. You will have nothing but problems and bullsh!t from them

I cannot see any links to chipped uk on there websites? Are you sure you have the right r -tech?

have a look here uk-mkivs. net / forums /t/ 269332. aspx (remove spaces)

reading it now i may have the wrong company, but he says they are linked so i dont know but to avoid any problems id steer clear of any of them hes mentioned. ive read more on there about taking payment from somebodys bank card without authorisation. now for me thats just way too far and would be enough to put me off.

i know, what sort of company would do that? I suppose they will be shut down soon by the sounds of the on goings there from people story telling. its strange how no other company really has this problem of compliants.

Why have you jumped on the bandwagon after reading that post?
I cant comment on chipped uk as I cant even be bothered looking in to their history, but im sure that the happy customers much outways the unsatisfied ones. This is definatly the case with r tech, their customer reports are fantastic over several forums that I use.
Smaller companies like that charge less for many reasons. One of them being that they dont spend shed loads of money on advertising etc and just let the product speak for itself, through the eyes of the customer and reccomendation.

Maybye the likes of the larger companies overcharge just because they can. They have a good rep so just play greed on that!
Like trainers for instance. They cost about £3 to be made in eastern or asian countries. Yet nike charge £90+ for some of theirs.
Ive had a few maps from 'renound' tuners on several different cars and have to say that I couldnt and wouldnt ever now pay the overinflated prices of particular tuners when I know that I can get just as good if not better results from paying half the price. I know of several people that have had revo maps onthere cars but found them too aggressive and therefore lacking at the top. (Ive been one of them)
Although once done by the likes of r tech the smoother stronger power has been preffered. Each to their own I guess but I dont want to pay for a name. I want to pay for a product that does what it says on the tin, and if that costs me less then great!!
