Hi,
I should probably introduce myself as this is my first post. My name is Neil and about 8 weeks ago i bought a 2009 Leon FR CR. It's a wonderful car and i'm extremely chuffed with it.
Over the last week I was noticing the engine seemed a little noisy, as it is usually very quiet and smooth on tick over. It sounded like a rattle, so I investigated it a little today and discovered this loose bolt.
(sorry it won't let me enter pics until i've posted 15 times)
It's located in the centre of the lower cambelt pulley, closest to the front of the car. When the car is running there seems to be a metal plate that this bolt hold to the pulley, and that is loose and causing the rattle. I'm extremely worried about anything to do with the cambelt, and it is due to be replaced soon as i'm approaching 80,000.
My question is, is this the only bolt holding this pulley to the engine? I'm worried to even drive it to a garage if this is the case. It's very difficult to access and i can't get to it to tighten without taking the bumper off I guess. Even if i could tighten it, I don't know the correct torque settings.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Neil
