It appears that when my bootlid is closed and latched properly it is ever so slighty loose. Over rough surfaces it rattles around a bit. On most bootlids you can adjust them by turning some little buffer like things.

Can you do this on the arosa? It has these little buffer things at either corner but they don't seem to want to play or move at all?!

And also, when I open the boot and the car is wet, water pours down the lid and straight on the left side trim where the rear passenger seat belt sits, most annoying. I see there is some sort of butterfly looking seal on both sides at the top of the panel, maybe the left one is not pointing the right way.

the rubber buffers are fixed from memory but may be worn out with all that shopping :p jk

is the catch on the rear panel ok, usually they loosen a bit and move so will cause a similar problem

it's the bit the tailgate lock grabs when you close it, worth tightening/adjusting maybe

As far as I remember you can adjust them. You need to remove the rubber cap. Then look inside the plastic the should be a screw. Release it and adjust (I've never tried this, I read it somewhere).

Then you'll need to adjust the closure plate (this is the catch from Lunalupi post below).

BTW: where can I buy one of those rubber caps?

You can adjust the catch at the bottom of the bootlid opening - two screws, loosen them and you can move it about (inwards to tighten the boot closing - mine shuts with a nice satisfying thud since I adjusted it :))

This may be what Zoon is describing, but mine has no cover on it.

No real suggestions about the water though, best thing to do is open the bootlid halfway and hold it for a couple of seconds, which allows the water to drain off slower and run down the channels it's supposed to go down!

Just had a look at the bootlid catch and when say you adjust the two screws, do you mean the splined ones on the lock itself? As those are the only ones I can see! I think its loose because its not gripping the latch on the body tightly.

Oh I see, I don't have a big enough splined piece, but I put a large flat bladed screw driver in and I couldn't crack either of them so they must be as tight as possible...
