Started ibiza up yday since aint moved from friday.

Needless to say there's a loud ticking noise coming from engine

Its a PD100

u can hear it at tickover and when reving (gets loud when reved)

Anyone any idea's?

Just im doing a 150 mile trip at weekend and dont want it going bang or getting worse

if it gets louder make sure you run away from the car as fast as possible

Rash i'l update this later,

Going out to walk dogs, shower then t then give it a blast

Turbo is still spinning up tho. I heard that when giving it a few blips of the pedal

ok am back.

No clip

But after a heavy footed blast seems ok.

Dad also commented on my terrible overtake lol :cartman:

Some old git was in my way and he got it lol :p

Seen ma mate in his St fiesta on the way back. Was keeping up till 70(yes the law;) )

I havnt used it for a few days so must have been that

Thank fook its nothing serious

was it left sitting around for a few days or anything? even so the ticking would go after about 10-20seconds if it was the oil wasnt running around the whole engine!

Thats what i thought rash but i gave it 5 mins before i reved it, Was refitting the door panel and a few other wee bits!

it was then after i was slightly worried as it hadnt gone

Yes wasnt started for 6 days

sounds like it was only running on 3 for a bit

you can get water in the fuel system and it should be drained when serviced, get that looked at

or was it low on fuel ?

or it may be a sticky valve

defo wasnt running on 3

1/4 of a tank in the car

Im just going to put it down to beebn cold and not been started for 5 days or something.

When it goes in for its timing belt i'l ask them to have a gander over it

Mine makes loads of funny noises, doesn't get moved for 3-4 days, then used 2 times over weekend, makes noise on top of tickover noise?

No, it doesn't get louder, just occasionally sounds 'rough' when not been moved, its all the belts and stuff I guess, getting cambelt, major service, water pump etc done on 1st June.

Its also started to smell of coolant, especially when I give it some beans for about an hour or so

Tell me about it, the trimmer always mentions it, every time I turn up, I know I spank it all the way to and from his but havn't a clue!

Will ask Skoda garage as they're doing service stuff
