Lowering by 50mm

Anyone know if you get problems when you lower by 50mm, i have a set of 18inch wheels on so will they rub, its going on my leon cupra

Shouldn't rub during normal use ... you may find it just catches the archlinings at the bottom of dips (at speed)

ARB (anti-roll bar) and driveshaft clearance becomes a bit of an issue on full lock, but nothing too detrimental - just nasty noises that get you unwanted attention from pedestrians

I brought them off ebay, they are h&r lowering cup kit and the advertisement says they are between 30mm and 60mm, thats the shocks and springs

Ah, these -

I'd be surprised if it drops it as low as 50mm - and H&R stuff's pretty good, so they'll be suitably stiffened to account for the lack of travel

Another bonus - as they're not coilovers, you shouldn't run into any of the clearance issues I have on the Toledo where the tyrewall touches the coilover locking rings (to adjust the height)

So they should be ok then, i brought them and now starting to panic as i have read some where on here that the h&r's lower to 50mm and you have loads of prob's, they should be ok, should'nt they!!!

Got a bit of a bargain with these by the look of it, jsut seen they are around the £400 mark

no scrubbage at all not even at 80mm

I had mine lowered, -5cm on 18".

Had to get the sway bar to eliminate the odd knocking from the driveshaft.

How can anyone drop their ride by 50mm ?

Where did you get the sway bar from MDS, and how much are they, i have had a few quotes for fitting the suspension from £100 to £150, but if its easy to fit i'll have a go my self, anyone done this

I got it from FK.

Its specific model for VAG Cars.

With this you can drop your car to a ridiculous 8cm.

From about 4cm with the OEM bar you may get the odd knock

Cost me €150 (EUROS). FK has a shop online too.
