Main Beam bulb

Ive just had a warning light saying my left hand main beam bulb is out and want to make sure I get the correct one.

My car has xenon headlamps, I thought I read somewhere that they were actually bi-xenon and assumed this meant that the main beam bulb was also xenon. However, when I put my reg in autobulbsdirect website, it says dipped beam is D1S HID bulb, but main beam is standard H1?

Can anyone confirm this?

I reckon it will be the P21W as marked (4) on the link above. They have a tendency to go, also check the bulb holder as they burn and turn brown over time.

Cheers. I've done a bit more research and I've read that these Bi-xenons use the same HID bulb for both dipped and main beam, but have something that moves the beam when you switch between the two?

I've also found that my problem was down to the P21W bulbs you mentioned, Id fitted some dodgy LED bulbs for the DRL's which were triggering the the blown main beam error They were listed as Canbus error free but obviously not good enough for our cars! Normal boring yellow DRL's refitted and warning lights are out again. Has anyone upgraded the DRL bulbs successfully?

I`ve done exactly the same, bought some LED bulbs that were meant to be canbus and error free etc, but the warning light came up so the standard ones went back. There`s something with the low voltage of the LED bulb that triggers the fault on the dash I think but I`m no expert
