manifold gasket???

hey guys rite iv had a search and cant really find what im looking for, the other nite i was giving the beezer some beans and as i was doing so it sounded like my exhaust was blowing or i had a boost leak. iv changed all the hoses and cheecked my intercooler hose and all seems well so i dont fink its a boost leak, the noise seems to be coming from the the turbo side of the block near the bulkhead. well my question is do the manifold gaskets give way after a while ( 96000 miles ) ?

try looking at your coils. when they start to pop out or go faulty your car will sound like a big beefy subaru

theirs 3 bolts on top of the manifold, check the one nearest the head hasnt come loose (like it likes too)

failing gaskets isnt unheard of, but id be checking other things first

yeah, like dave said, mine always used to come loose, as it can be a pain to tighten up again, if it is the gasket, stick some loc-tite on the threads when putting the bolts back in, then its all sorted.

but yeah, i'd be looking else wear first, could be anything really

You will often hear the turbo a bit more when you have an exhaust-side leak.

Please don't use loctite on mani>turbo bolts. I'll post pics of bolts snapped off in the turbo if you like.....

i fink its my manifold gasket aswell... but fitting my k03s on sat so will change the gasket then
