Hi all,
I've just picked up a new Cupra EZ. Can anyone tell what manuals you should get with it please? I've got an introduction to Seat and the owners manual. Do you not get a service book these days?

Cheers

No, service records / service history is now electronic and stored on Seat’s service history database.

The dealer should (or can) provide a print of your car’s service history if you ask them. You should still get a copy of the service invoice from the dealer each time you get the car serviced, to enable you to create your own copy of your car’s service history.

So how does the VAG specialist, of your choice, update the service history?

I’m assuming they won’t be able to as they won’t have access to Seat’s on line service history database. Presumably, an independent doesn’t have access to Seat software updates either so can’t apply these during servicing, and that will always have been the case, irrespective of the recent move from paper service books to on line service records. Do Seat sell cars under their ‘approved used’ scheme where servicing has been carried out by independent VAG specialists? Presumably not, as there may be no proof of previous servicing for cars without a service book.

Personally speaking, I think a folder of servicing and repair invoices / receipts from a VAG specialist or Seat dealer is as good as - if not better than - a Seat dealer service stamp in a book when the time comes to sell your car. It shows a prospective buyer that the car has been well looked after.
