Massive variance in service prices.

Phoned around for a price on a 4 year/40K service on the car earlier today.

Was quite amazed by the variance in prices quoted by different SEAT dealers. Got 3 prices, cheapest was £199 then I had one at £249 and a final one at £285.

How can one dealer charge 43% more than another for essentially the same service? Surely they all follow the same service schedule and carry out the same work?

I'm not surprised that they are charging different amounts.However.i'm surprised at the size of the differences.
I think they're allowed to charge whatever they want(special offers etc ).
3 Seat dealers(within a 50 mile radius) of me wanted £299,£330, and £ 346 for the same job recently.

I think maybe with them not selling many new cars these days,they're having to drop labour rates just to keep the buisness afloat.

Could be - but strange nonetheless. Needless to say the cheapest quote is getting the work.

Tell me about it, i called 3 dealers and got crazy rates, in the end called M1 Autos (seat dealer kingsbury) and they price matched a company i found on a website for £179 for 40k service (full service) and 39 for mot.

Martin, If you speak to Jason who works in the service department i am sure he will look after you. They will price match most places, the main reason i got a discount was because i had my cam belt/tentionor/rollers / water pump all changed together

They are competitive so give jason a call and mention cupra net

£199 is a great price. They all want seem to want £300 + in Birmingham.

Maybe you should make a day trip down to london, might be worth it if its £300 _+ wow thats crazy!

Tell me about it! Last week I phoned round my three local dealers for a 4yr / 40K service and mot and the most expensive was nearly double the cheapest - for the same work! I don't know how they get customers at those prices.
