Sorry for another matt paint thread, but I want to come at it from a slightly different angle. So, a simple question...

For those of you who've lived with matt paint and have actually dealt with the reality of the special colour and the extra attention required, would you do it again on your next car? Yes or no and why.

You will have to wait a few more years for my final answer.
A lot people ask me the same question when they see my Formentor in magnetic tech matt.
Matt paint is certainly much more fragile than regular ones. Recovery is difficult and if you stand close, you can see even the smallest dirt on it.
Mine is a lease car and for that reason I dare to take the risk for 4 years. If I had to buy it myself, I probably would have made a safer choice.

Despite the fact that it is a lease car, I am very careful with it.
I wash it by hand with special snow foam and soap for matt paint. Takes 30-45 minutes and using the pressure washer is always fun
The carwash is a no-go for now. I have to find a good one without brushes in The Netherlands. I don't now how dirty it will look in the winter, but I could wash and dry the car inside. I also bought special towels to dry it and they are great. I don't mind the extra time to clean it.
There are nano ceramic coatings to protect the matt paint. I don't have experience with that (yet).

For now I'm very happy with it and I get a lot of compliments from people.
