Max power out of the cupra engine

Does anyone have any idea how much power the cupra engine will take before it needs to be forged? 500? 450? Just an idea so I know what to look for?

I would want all wheel drive for that kind of power. The car will be slower in everything bar 5th gear!

And you need to beware of what the clutch and gearbox can take - especially increase in torque

Good point, exploding a DSG gearbox will not be cheap.

APR etc have tested the previous generation DSG to 500+ with upgraded clutch packs.

It becomes a game of finding the next weakest link with big power modified cars.

I suspect the OEM drive shafts will strip if you actually hook up with 500bhp

My MK6 Golf R had 500bhp on a stock engine and DSG clutch packs. Not sure how strong the MK7 Golf R is but there are already a few pushing 450bhp on hybrid turbo upgrades on stock DSG and internals.

Yep I know of a Golf R and S3 on Hybrid with 450ish (370+ whp) both are Manual though I think. I know the Golf R is.

Its scott at VWR i meant and yeah the tte450 is hybrid turbo aint it?

and that glowapr borg warner is on stock internals too so i reckon thats easy over 400 too because they are selling it to the R as well as GTI owners eventually and just 400 on an R aint nothing to celebrate with a turbo swap so im thinking 500 as a limit!
