Model Year 23/24 Mechanical sound on full steering lock

Hi all,

I’ve just read a Facebook post on a user with a 310 experiencing a mechanical sound when steering both left or right on full lock.

I too have this issues when manoeuvring at low speeds onto my driveway, I’ve got my service booked for next week and have made them aware to have it looked at.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? Could it be the power steering pump? Driveshaft? Bearing?

Steering is electric so theres no pump to worry about. Seems it's a fairly standard VAG thing, my Seat Leon FR made the same noise lock to lock as the Formentor does, it'll creak when on full lock either side. Just put it down to having the 19" wheels on both cars

That is a huge possibility - I had a V2 with 18” and didn’t have this issue but am experiencing it with the VZ and it’s 19”.

I had the same issue - went to the dealer to be required to replace the bearings (under warrantly).

No problems or sounds since that replacement - definitely recommend to do so
