Hey all:wave:

I have a Meguiars quick clay kit lying around and
was wondering can it be used on fairly new paint?
Purchased a new ibiza fr back in febuary and after using
the clay kit on a previous car im desperate to use it again
,of course not the same clay bar though:happy:

As Jace said, use it, you'll be suprised at how much muck it will get off.

A new car is just as likely to have bonded on contaminants from where it has stood around in docks, transported by rail and road etc.

wow, i cant believe how easy Clay baring is. It gets such a surprising amount of muck off the car and leaves a rather nice smooth finish.....however i feel as if the bottle of Quik Detailing will only last 1 going over so maybe using tooo much lube :)

is the clay bar reusable again and again until its black?

I tend to buy an extra quick detailer when im using the clay bar
as i felt i went through loads, suppose really the more you use
the kit and the cleaner the paint condition is you will use less effectively
if that makes any sense lol:p
mind u the touch test afterwards is always great:D

Don't skimp on the QD, use plenty. You can always mix it with a drop of water to stretch it a bit if needs be.

You can reuse the clay several times, until you can't make it clean by kneading really or if you pick up any big bits of muck. Even then you can still use it on wheels and glass.

make up your own lube with shampoo and water in the spray bottle much cheaper, save the qd for when you need it with other jobs

I find that this degrades the clay and it will end up breaking down.

yeah you can get it from halfrauds or look on the meguires web site

Buy some last touch and use that instead. It can also be used for a variety of other detailing jobs such as drying the car. It is much cheaper than their Quick Detailer which is very expensive for the amount you get.

You can never have too much lube. I would suggest that at least a whole bottle of the Quick Detailer is used when doing a whole car.

as a cheaper version of lube, try:

snow foam or generally shampoo the car first to get rid of the dirt and grime, then once the car is clean, although still wet, lightly snow foam or soap the car again, and clay the car then, so you dont have to use all the quick detailer, as it does not need the quick detailer for lube, it can technically be anything soapy acting as a car lubricating product for the paint work

once this is done, I then give the car another quick rinse and then start with the quick spray detailer etc
