Melting pipe?

One of the pipes that comes from the top of the fuel filter on my FR TDi seems to be melting on the large pipe to the right. Is this something to worry about?

Can you get a photo of it, so we can see it ?

I'd be surprised if anything got hot enough in that area for pipes to start melting :confused:

fuel gets silly hot tho , thats why theres a cooler for it , fuel temps after the cooler are still 72 degrees that ive logged on block 007 , just wondering could the cooler be blocked or the coolant pump not working etc , i havent heard of anything like this b4 so just guesstimating , pics would be good . heres wat ive dug up on the cooling system for the fuel .sorry bout big pic , los res is crap

ahh the big black bugger is the top boost pipe , dunno which would be the warmer pipe the boost or the fuel line . can u not tie them apart , , better still get both replace 1st

Had a simlar problem on my Passat, got it replaced under warranty - but it will happen again need to provide alternative method holding apart etc.
Also the vac pipe [N75] near the OE air cleaner chaffs has well

the two fuel pipes on mine are taped together with a cloth tape kinda stuff then clipped to the coolant resevoir , no where near the boost pipe ,.

I can't check mine as I don't own it any more :rolleyes: but I'm fairly certain mine were taped together as in Stoney's pics.

BTW I don't think it's melting in that pic - just rubbing. There is a LOT of engine movement when the car is running, the large plastic boost pipe will move backwards and forwards by a couple of inches at least - best get that fuel pipe moved or tied back else it'll rub through again in no time !
