Guys wonder if anyone has any clue what this can be. Yesterday after some "enthusiastic drivng" with my mate in the car after breaking heavily i heard like a metal rubbing/grinding noise that seemed to becoming from the back passenger side of my car. I let my foot off the break and it kept on for about 2 seconds then stopped. It only happened once and never happened again. It just seemed to happen when driving at pace, i only heard it once but my m8 said he heard it once just before i did. At first i thought my tyre was going flat. We stopped at a lay by and nothing. CHecked the back breaks and the discs looked worn and uneven but the fronts are still fine. After we set off again noting at all re occured albeit not breaking as heavily at speed. Personally speaking i think it is probably the back discs and pads. Just wondering if anyone has any other opinions and also any good prices on back discs and pads for the ibiza fr tdi. THe car is only turned a year old but with long commuting has done 20k plus miles. Cheers guys

The rear discs do corrode badly. It was probably just the lip that develops around the edge of the disc rubbing on the pads. You may be able to remove some of the corrosion with a file but its probably not worth it as it will return quickly. Common problem on Mk4 Ibiza's I believe!

Yeh m8 i noticed the lip forming on the back disc thats probs what it is my fronts are fine. THe car is remapped and sometimes i feel the breaks could be better for the power hike fronts included lol. Can u give me any details on back disc and pad pricess as obv discs pads etc arent covered under warranty cheers

You can probably find them on lots of tuning store websites. Try some of the forum sponsors on here first!
