okay! well as i will hopefully be getting the mfd3 fro christmas i just need some quick questions! if i go for the vw one can i change the start up screen so it doesnt show the vw logo? will the vw one intergrate 100% with the seat. for example do i need the seat one to get all the functions and features or does the vw work the exact same way? also anything else i need to know!

You can't change the start up screen as far as I know - some people have had clock shift issues with VW units - but then on the other hand some people have had them with the Seat units too.
Everything else should be the same + you get the benefit of an SD card slot too

okay thanks for the info! will ask tommy if he is expecting the seat units at any point or i will just go for the vw ones
Havent seen the VW one in the flesh but from the pictures the surround doesn't match like the Seat one, the Seat one has the same blue colour surround like the dash... only thing you dont get is an SD card reader for some strange reason?
ok but is it really noticeable that it doesn't match? would love to see someones interior with a vw mfd3 unit installed. anyone have any pics?
I had until last week vw unit in my cupra and it looks pretty good, I heard that change the logo is possible, but cant say it for sure. I dont have seat unit in stock right now, only vw versions.

As you can see the VW one has a black surround and the Seat one the same colour as the panel....
I cant promise that we will have the unit available, its problem to get seat version, becose nobody wants it here in CZ
ok. i can see that there might be less demand for the seat units.
stuck in a hard place! have the money to buy the unit now but am wanting to get the seat version just to keep the car original.if you could keep me updated on your seat units stock that would be excellent.

hi, slightly off topic. i notice elsewhere your showing an interest in the 'media in' accessory. ive been looking at non oem versions of this and am quite interested.
do you know how/where it connects? does it piggy back the quadlock or replace something? also did you find out if yours is an a or b unit?

Mine appears to be an 'a' unit - however reading this post that was made today, that appears not to be a problem - I'm going to treat myself I think as an xmas present and order one along with the ipod cable

man this is really annoying! i have contacted around 4 or 5 people regarding the seat mfd3 unit and no one has one! why is there no seat units in stock!?!
right as there seems to be no seat units on the face of this planet! haha am looking at the vw unit possibly. there has been some tooing and frowing over whether the vw splash screen can be changed. or gotten rid of all together??
dont worry about it too much.
the splash is only on for about 2 seconds while the hd spins up.
Chris, I'm going to try and take some photos when I install my media in unit tomorrow - will post assuming all goes well!
