Mini Mods... Black washer filler caps & Coolant caps

Anyone have them?

I have the overpriced R8 caps but spotted these wicked little mini mods at AKS tuning while checking on the progress of my money pit...

I previously tried painting my horrid blue cap black and it looked turd so love this little touch.

AFAIK the chaps over on Mk5golfgti.co.uk have a thread running with both caps on offer...

Im a sucker for mini mods.

An alternative is the Forge filler neck but at a tenner I think these are far kinder on my wallet

ive got the r8 cap, but must admit those look good, are these painted or actually black plastic m8?

The coolant cap is a VAG part and the washer caps are available at AKS tuning, they're black plastic so a nice oem+ mini mod

I plasti-dipped mine. They look brill.

As it is flexible it doesn't crack when the washer cap is lifted ( Unlike paint because it's brittle) .

These look good though, and worth it if they are cheap-ish

iirc on the thread on Mk5golfgti.co.uk they are 8.50 each for the caps. Postage and packing is 3.75 recorded.

Not a bad price then. Mine arn't perfect but it doesn't need to be under the bonnet haha. When they start to get tatty I will probably replace them with these

Already have the R8 oil cap suppose that was bad enough.
Will give it some thought.

Think I paid around £30 each + p&p for the R8 oil and coolant caps. Black washer one finishes it nicely though

I went for this water cap in black anodized. Granted at $70 it ain't cheap, but IMO it finishes off engine bay/matches/compliments the r8 oil & coolant caps perfectly.

To be fair if I had been aware of the black one linked above I would of went for that instead!!

So to the guy above that was unsure due to it costing circa £20, just go for it
