To disable Auto Locks...

Turn on ignition, start up VAG-COM

Go to "Select control module" from the main menu.
Select "46 - Central conv."
Click on "Adaption - 10"
Press "Up" next to channel number and watch for "Auto Lock" at the top.
When found Auto Lock, set "New Value" to '0' from '1' click "Test" then "Save"
Press "Up" next to channel number and watch for "Auto Unlock" at the top.
When found Auto Unlock, set "New Value" to '0' from '1' click "Test" then "Save"
Then click "Done, Go Back"

Remove key from ignition then the next time you start up those annoying locks won't bother you.

To disable Selective Unlocking

Turn on ignition, start up VAG-COM

Go to "Select control module" from the main menu.
Select "46 - Central conv."
Click on "Recode - 07"
The number in at present will be a even number, add one to that number to make it an odd number then click "Do It".
Remove keys from ignition and lock the car - the next time you go to unlock pressing the unlock button will unlock everything.

Comfort rear wiper settings before changing

Here is now to do it, turn the cars ignition on and wire up your cable and start the VAG-COM software... from the main VAG-COM screen go for "Select control module" and on the next screen select "09-Cent. Elect." it will then connect to your cars central electronics menu and you then want to select "Coding" at this point you have two editable fields... the one we are editing is the software coding one. The original code on mines was 00140 ... do add the comfort wipe function I added 8192 to that, so changed the code to 08332 and clicked "Do It!" At this point I clicked "Coding" again to make sure that it had changed. Basically take the key and cable out - start the engine and put your front wipers on and then select reverse gear - the wiper should come on.

LOCK/UNLOCK CHIRP

It basically makes your alarm/horn (depending on your
car model) sound every time you lock or unlock your car. It helps you know that your car is
locked properly, and also lets potential thieves in the nearby area that your car has an alarm.
Open Up VAG-COM, and goto "Select Control Module"
Select module 46 - "Central Convenience"
In the Advanced Options section, click on Adaptation - 10
Open Channel 6. This is the UNLOCK chirp. To enable it, change value from 0 to 1
and press "save".
Open Channel 7. This is the LOCK chirp. To enable it, change value from 0 to 1 and
press "save".
Close the controller, and close VAG-COM.

That's the bit we were looking for, but I couldn't find it. It had autolock on channel 1, autounlock on channel 2, but from then on we just got 'no channel found'. On my Toledo there is a whole raft of changes available, but none showed up on Twins car. Any ideas why not?

Will this work if your car doesn't have an alarm?

unfortunately some of these don't work on facelift models (from 06<), such as the comfort rear wiper :(

ok kool is it easy enough to do this myself if i was to buy a cable off ebay even tho i dont know anything about vag com and could i damage anything by doing stuff on it

i'm with you on this mate. when i bought my car the guy that used to own it had vag com. he gave me a lead (blue one, one off ebay i think) and said plug it into your laptop and you can check loads of stuff, but tbh i didn't really take much notice of what he was saying because all i wanted to do was take it off him and drive away :p . could anyone tell me how to set it up so i can do the things that damoegan has posted? iv plugged it into the port and into my laptop but nothing came up

I'm in the same situation as "flegz16" I have an OBDII to USB cable. (Galletto 1260, if that makes any difference, from ebay)

I'm guessing all I need is the V.A.G com software to make it all work now. Have no idea if i need anything else or if there is somewhere on the internet I could acquire this a bit cheaper

Reverse the numbers though so instead of setting it to '0' set it to '1' in order to enable them

As Damien mentioned earlier :)
