These tdi engines can be very nippy lol my pd160 stage 1 Ibiza Cupra tdi makes a lot of people think what the hell goes that qwick with that much smoke lol.
It's the torque levels of the tdi Engine that make it go well.
To behonest with the pd engines If u have the money there is no reason why it carnt be quicker than a petrol ithere is a few people on hear running 280 bhp plus out if there pd160s and pd 150s :)
in that case i think i need a bigger turbo .and forged internals lol
 
It is more torquey but the pd160 and 150 have been around for longer and people have achevied more out of these engines than what the 2.0l has from what I have seen any way. Am not saying the 2.0l I less tuneable just not as Meny people have gone to as higher limits.
 
well i learn something new every day .lol .i can soon rip it out and a fit a 1.9 pd lump ? not take long to resort.regards bhp .im unsure what i can take the engine to .on stock internals tbh .id like 300 or as close as .as i dont know the max boost / flow timing and injection amount etc .on this ( its my very first attempt on a oil burner .so im a little in the dark tbh .ps mines just the bkd 140 version .other versions put me off with the oil pump

Now I don't really know if u would get to 300bhp out of that pd140 without changing the internals but am sure someone on hear would correct me if am wrong.
One thing I do know is turbo dynamics offer a lot of parts for this engine on fact there is more uprated parts for the pd140 than there is the 170.
So in the site of gaining power it should be not too hard.

Your headin in the right direction with that turbo and manifold. Next if 300bhp is the mark your heading for I would in vest in a bigger inlet manifold due to the stock manifold won't let anought flow for 300bhp.
Then. Get some better uprated injectors
Then after that With a good air intake system ie 2.25inch intercooler pipeing all round a large front mount a good open cone air filter straight through 2.5inch exhaust system and a egr delete pipe then a really good custom remap u will be heading close to that figure u want

unsure tbh it wont be anything compaired to my r32 t .now that was nuts i could laranch and snap cv joints and break haldex units lol .mind im only on 15 inch rims but 4 wd should hold it straight tbh .time will tell .ive plenty of spares eitherway .all diyfun tbh

if you end up impressed with your tdi then i will stop bitching about owning a tdi myself as i agree petrols are better in every other way other than economy.

Na I beg to differ I like my tdi and will never under estermate the power what can be achieved
