hi guys just joined your forum and looking good so far. I have just bought a mk1 seat leon 1.8 tubo (aug) and was just after some advise. I've had the car for a few months now but started having a few problems with it started with the epc light coming on now and then but then the engine management light came on. put it on a mates code reader and its telling me its the plugs or coils pack? so I was thinking of new plugs anyway so that's no problem but what coil packs to go for standard or the red ones are there many benefits to the red ones ?? any help would be cool thanks guys

Phone Seat about the coil pack recall as they were changing some for free youll need your reg and chassis number

Best coil packs are the ones from seat . Have a chat with Dave ( sere motors ) on here.
Your coil packs may be on the recall , but only if they are the original set I believe ( I missed out ) . Euro car parts sell cheap ones ...... They are crap !!
Coil packs are likely to be the cause of the light on the dash coming on . Sometimes you will find it will through the car into limp mode .

Yeah, well I think so.
If the EML light wasn't on you wouldn't really know it had a problem.
I've replaced coil packs, spark plugs are fine & so are leads but I've just had a couple of moments when it hasn't started very easily & was rough to pull away.
I think it could be a burnt out valve?

Same thing with your maf . This doesn't always throw up a light. The 7 replacements I've had , not 1 has brought a light up .
