Mk2 Gti's on Autotrader

Is it just me, or are there quite a few Mk2's on Autotrader at the mo that are advertised as 16v's, when they're actually 8v's ?!?

The give-away are the 8v alloys..... and the front grille badge just saying 'Gti' and not '16v GTi'.

Think I spotted about 5 on there, all under £1k

Emailed one of the sellers asking for a pic of the engine bay, as I think they've mis-advertised it

opening the bonnet usually gives it away, or buy mine definatly got 16v's lol!

yeah andy, loads mate, it's bloody annoying, as someone who doesn't know about mk2's will be getting shafted by misinformation! my mate nearly did, i only seen pics of it, and it had all the signs of a valver (spoiler, alloys, seats, stickers) then opened bonnet, and i nearly beat the man for lying, looked at V5 it said 8v, i knew he was lying, thought he could make my mate look like a fool, i then showed him my engine, he shut up!
he said he would change his description....he never! prat!

On the subject of this has anyone saw the 8v on ebay with only 17,700 miles?

If only I had the money, because its immaculate. Back seats aint even been sat in.

And its the best colour, Alpine White.
