Mk2 Leon Fob

The lock is working on the fob just not the boot release or unlock the light isn't coming on either when i press the buttons, I've had a little search does it mean new fob time?
And how to sync fob and car together.

you tried new batteries? the fob can be taken apart quite easy, take it to bits and look for dodgy connections by the buttons on the pcb.

I'm going to try to take it apart tomorrow. Got the car in for an mot and service tomorrow. Wonder what they will charge to fix or just try my luck?

they will probably try to get you to buy a new one, i dread to think how much that is

Hopefully won't be much, if i recall i think i seen them for about £15-20.
And ye still got the problem unfortunately, I'm going into Seat tomorrow.

Got the car back today. The keyfob works now and again. Think it's probably the battery.

What do yous think?

Am I right do not need to Recode the keyfob if I replace the battery?

nope, just swap the battery and should be fine

Is there a guide on how to change battery?
Will it immobilise if i do something wrong?

It's simple enough to do. Just need a flat headed screwdriver. Flip out the key. There's a small gap where you stick the screwdriver and twist. The key should open up into two pieces. Slide the top half off. The bottom half has the battery, all you do is open this part with your finger nails. Then the reverse for putting it back together.

Will it immobilise if i do something wrong?

no, the lock/unlock is is seperate from the immobiliser (immobiliser uses a glass chip in the blade part of the key that is sensed when the ignition turns on)

My Lock button works fine but my Unlock and Boot Release doesn't,
and as said by a few people it'll cost a bit to get fixed, we're talking £180+ when all i can do is buy a couple of quid replacement?
