MK3, 2.0 TDI Leon FR - Component Upgrades / Stage 2?

Hi guys, i'm welcoming myself to the community with my first post on the site after a little while lurking in the background.

To the point, I'm considering upgrading my 2017, 2.0 TDI Leon FR. It is currently running a stage 1 remap from Celtic Tuning for the last ~12 months, and I've been really happy with the performance gains I've seen in the car.

It has not been dyno'd, the estimated power is currently running @ 220BHP and 332 lb/ft of torque. I'd like to understand if it's possible to push the car up to ~300 bhp / 400+ lb/ft of torque?

Does anyone have any experience, or threads they can point me toward, so I can gather more information on this? It's being serviced by a friend tomorrow who I'm hoping can help me with this conversation, but I'm a little concerned about pushing new components and more power in without any working knowledge on how this might impact reliability / the cost of the upgrades. I do understand the car will need to be re-remapped if I am to go this route.

Another option would be to sell up and just buy a cupra 300 (I cannot tell you how much I regret not starting with the cupra 300 - but I love my Leon FR entirely, such an awesome car) - but if it's achievable to generate this level of power without ££££££££££££££ invested it's an option I'd like to consider.

I do apologise if this is a lazy question - I'm trawling through threads, forums and videos trying to find info but I thought I'd introduce myself and ask the Q while I look.

Thanks in advance!

Updating the thread with the info I've found:

This thread suggests stage 1 is pretty much as far as you can take the car without running into problems

I've also noticed a lot of tuning / performance garages don't offer past stage 1 in this make / model (specifically the 2.0 tdi 184bhp engine).

I've managed to come across one performance garage (based in europe) that offers up to stage 3, but the lack of commercial offerings implies to me that this isn't something that is done often (and probably isn't a great idea).

Hi,
As you have found out - ultimate tuning potential of the 2.0tdi (EA288) is limited - ultimately by its cams and cross flow cylinder head design (for efficiency). If you want crazy power best sticking with the previous generation VAG tdi's with which the sky's the limit!!
Check out darkside developments vid on the EA288. Not much point going more than a hybrid turbo.

Thank you for the response brother!!

Understood - I'll be leaving performance gains alone, I'm going to freshen up the car with some cosmetic changes to make it feel new again - and start saving my pennies for when I'm ready to upgrade to the mighty Cupra!

Thanks again, all the best!
