I really like the look of the FLI's but can't find any rear ones to match so will prob be the JBL ones i go for. I know nothing about speakers so don't know if i need components or cox's.

You can fit components in the front of your car, there is a large speaker at the bottom of the door and a tweeter behind the plastic bit where the mirror bolts to. I pulled the old tweeters off and glued the tweeter in place of the original so it looks nice and standard.

JBL are a very good speaker for the price! My mate built a sub £500 pound system in a friends astra gsi and it is cracking for the price!

Avoid FLI at all costs.

Nice little sealed box with a 10" sub to give you nice and punchy bass and decent ampped comps up front.

Or spend a bit and get quality up front comps with plenty of brown bread will give you a decent return for your money.

Don't scrimp on front speakers, get a decent set and the mid/bass will be much improved.

So i can fit coaxials or comps I'm guessing the standard ones are coaxials the only reason I'm replacing them is because they keep popping and crackling Iv'e plugged it into vagcom and got something about 1 rear open circuit and 1 front open circuit. I can't seem to find a make to match front and back.

Are you upgrading the head unit?

I would strongly recommend doing this as the current one won't be much cop when trying to power better after market speakers.

The standard speakers in the front are components however they use an integrated crossover rather than an external one.
The rears are **** and probably not even worth replacing

Na not upgrading the head unit just fitting new speakers to get rid of this popping and crackling. So if I got some aftermarket comps they will need an ext crossover?

Components will come with all necessary parts including crossovers or whatever. You may need to find somewhere to put the crossovers e.g. screw them to the door or something.
This is usually what you get in a box when you buy components:

Ahh right so do the crossover terminals say what is what like 2 for the tweeter 2 for the speaker etc. I'm not changing the standard tweeter so how will i connect this to the crossover as it looks like it's connected by a single wire.

made it like a double box if you know what i mean basically the front, top and side are false with a inner box for the sub , wanted a stealth box but did not want to spend £200 for a box , only cost me £15 in mdf
