Quality control seems to be a little lax. Just inspected my front splitter and the paint is awful. Full of scratches and pitting on the corners. Email sent to Trc for repair :( not happy

Did they accept the splitter back for paint repair no questions and in good time?
I wasn't even asking, the delivery to IRL was quite pricey, so i tried polish first and it looks better. The worst parts are not visible when fitted to the bumper...

It's a gel coat, not paint.

I've ordered one which I'm waiting for delivery on - I've had triple r products before and the gel coat isn't brilliant. Mine will be going to a body shop to be painted gloss black before going on the car.

The other option i would probably go for is to plasti dip the splitter to matt black.

As said its a gel coat, just bare in mind guys that TRC are a very small outfit, last time I was there they had 3 staff and they are all hand made no machines there.

Kev the boss also makes them by hand he doesn't sit in the office all day doing nothing.

Jesus, my trc splitter is due anytime now. I have an eye for detail and if it isn't perfect I'll not be happy. I have read a few recent comments that as they are becoming very popular, the quality is becoming compromised. I hope I'm wrong.....

I personally would.

There's a reason that Ford in York (fiesta st owners club) sell triple r splitters painted in any colour you want! I was never entirely happy with the gel coat on the splitter I had on my mk2. It wasn't proper gloss black and wouldn't polish up. Definitely worth getting it painted properly!

I think I'll see about getting mine wrapped in gloss black as I have a wrapper at the end of my road. Either that or plasti dipped

Mine got delivered yesterday but I won't be able to unwrap it until the 7th October as I'm away! Will be putting it into the body shop before going on the car

Let us know what the quality is like. I had a response from Trc on my complaint about poor paint quality. They advised they would investigate so hopefully future items don't suffer the same issues. I requested part refund to pay for the wrap which Trc seemed to accept but then went quiet when I said how much it was. PayPal dispute now raised.

The quality of the gel coat isn't great and I know that, that's why mine will be off to a body shop! I don't need to look at it to know it'll be going there

Did they message you to say it was on its way or did it just arrive, just thinking about making sure someone is in when it's delivered
