Hello,

now im a bit of a noob when it comes to this so i thought i would ask around before possibly wasting alot of money,

im thinking about changing my current standard bumpers on my ibiza to FR or cupra (thats another question is there any difference?) my real question is can i do a straight swap? or are there different fittings ext..

another thing is can i get away with it on my insurance? as its official SEAT body parts would it still validate my insurance?

lastly whats the average price for front and rear bumpers? as ive heard you need lower spoiler and reflectors and so on for rear (not sure about front) and is anyone selling?

well.. i warned you i was a noob with this stuff :D thank you for your time i hope ive made my questions clear enough :)

Fitting: All bumpers in the Mk4 Ibiza range are interchangeable.

Insurance: I would just put them on, and not tell the insurance, depending on what company you're with.

Prices: It really depends. Some people are lucky, some people aren't, but I'd be patient and wait for ones of your colour. But you'd probably be looking at about £100, give or take £50, depending on how lucky you are, like I said.

Selling: Selling parts on here is a no-no I'm afraid.

As for being a noob, there is a search function, as you certainly aren't the first to bring this up. ;)

Thanks for the reply mate :)

Ive come across a problem :/ the fog lights,
As the facelift bumper has different fog lights to pre-facelift bumper (or so ive heard) is there a way to make them fit of have i gotta buy new ones?

Also found im gunna need new fog light grills but i cant find the part number for the facelift ones, does anyone have the part bumbers please? :p

Thanks for reading

I have the standard bumber/foglights 02>06 at the moment and ive brought facelift bumber 06>08 :)

I been looking for a wile now and it seems to be hard to find the fog light grills, i have found some for the leon and they look same fittings but will they fit? im guessing not but just in case thought i would ask.

Thanks for reading and replying peeps alot of help ^^

Personally on the insurance front, I'd be declaring it. It didn't come out of the factory like that, therefore it's a mod. If you ever crash and get a savvy inspector, then you might find yourself in a whole heap of expensive ****.

Personally if you crash and its your fault most of the time your bumper will be shashed anyway that's how i see it ;)

Yeah ill see how much extra it will cost to declare it modded then decide if its worth it, but does anyone have a answer to my last post at all? :help: :help:

I'm not sure if the leon ones will fit tbh, don't quote me though

I'm pretty sure you can buy the grills from SERE motors

A stone cracked the glass so I bought non-genuine Leon Mk2 foglight from Ebay for £25-30 for my facelift FR it's fine.

If you phone up to ask the insurance then decide not to go ahead they willl have it on record and are more likely to check should the worst happen

Some insurance companies including mine (LV) let you declare mods if you wish but if you dont and you do crash they will still pay out for the standard car. I no admiral have this policy aswell

I think you're maybe mis-understanding a like-for-like policy which you can pay extra to have mods replaced like for like.

However if you put a fancy bumper onto your car, you're increasing it's desirability for thieves! Making it a higher risk for TWOC and therefore a higher risk to insurers... so of course they'll want to increase your premium!

Well as far as the fog lights go I've brought 06>08 ones if my pre facelift ones fit then I can just sell them over eBay and for insurance I'll let them know and be safe,

I'm getting abit confused with the facelift bumpers as I think I'm short on some parts I'm going to need, I have the front bumper It's self, new center grille, fog lights and looking into getting fog light grills, I already have top left center and right grills from my current bumper but what else will I need for new facelift bumper change? :S this is a hell of a lot bigger job then i thought

But atleast I got this form for help :) cheers lads

sweet thanks, ive pretty much got everything sorted now

Ive phoned seat and had a long covo abit bits i might need and ive basicly ordered all the screws and fittings ext.. so i have every fitting i need.

The only thing they were concerned about was the pre-facelift bumpers have a separate reinforcer where as the facelift bumpers have one attached, now they wasnt use if the new one would fit straight on or not
does anyone have any ideas?

Hmm that link you gave me to all the parts & part numbers doesnt have the rear bumper spoiler, And i cant find one anywhere?? =S
All the ones on ebay are for Cordoba 2002-2006 i dont know if they will fit as they look the same but not 100% sure will fit

cant link yet as havent done enough posts so copy and paste "Genuine Seat Ibiza 2002-2006 Rear Bumper Spoiler. BRAND NEW" into ebay there thought be only 1 shows up
