The front wheel bearing has moved in the hub on my friends mk4 Ibiza sport, her p/s drive shaft had snapped, so I went out to replace it for her eariler today and it seemed to short, on furthur investigation I found that the wheel bearing has moved about 1" outwards,
Iv just got a new bearing kit for her, ( it's got the wheel hub already pressed into the bearing ) just had a quick look on youtube how there done and it seems there done pretty much insitu on the car with a special puller tool,,
What I'm wondering if I removed the whole hub assembly completly off the car, will I be able to press the new bearing into the hub without damaging it,
Problem I think I might have is,,,, I will be putting the press on the wheel flange ( thus all the pressure will be on the inner part of the bearing ) rather then the outer shell of the bearing,,,
Has anyone ever done one on here just using a hydroulic press rather then a puller/pusher kit?
