Hi
Looking to buy a Momo Nero gear knob which on their web site says standard fit on most vehicles.
Are the LCRs considered a standard figment or have the VW Audi Group done something off the wall which means I can't have it?
If anyone has changed theirs, or just knows their stuff, I'd appreciate any advice.

Not sure of size but it's a push on fitting. Pull the leather bit off by pulling at the base "nicely" and the clips will pop out then it's time for the one time use clip holding the leather and knob together, remove that and it will all pull off.

Ok so not held on with a pin or screw ?
Thought pin or screw on were the basic versions, just read that somewhere else. As in what most cars have.
So does it mean Seat Leon is different from the majority or am I still not getting it.
Also one time clip sounds bad. Take it I need to order another in case this one won't go on and I have to put it back.
Arrr! Nothing's simple on these cars.

Wait till you do the brakes. They were an absolute joy!!! No stupid caliper tool to use. I did mine in 35/40 mins and that included jacking up wheels off and bleeding!

Easy.

this is the sort of thing you want to be looking at. This will fit/lock in to the top of the shaft where the notch is.
Golf mk4 and mk1 Leon are the same on this bit. Many more are the same fitment also when it come to vag gearknob but not much custom choice

Yeah not my cup of tea though.
Shame they don't sell the internals so custom knobs could be fitted.
The one in my car looks grubby.

Here's the finished knob.
I'm very happy. Not quite the Momo but I'm chuffed.

I love my shiny knob.
Now I've driven with it. I love it more. Looks are great. Smaller in the hand and very tactile.
Will be great with short shifter.

Hi
I've given you a link in the other thread you started.
It's oemvag.com in Spain.

I have the same on my LCR. Looks great, doesn't it?

But be aware that the aluminium 'circle' on the top is not solid, it's a veneer on plastic. As I discovered when mine started to wear and I ended up with very thin, very sharp slivers of aluminium embedded into the palm of my hand

Yes it is a cracking bit of kit.
The ally in your hand doesn't sound so cool.
Thanks for the warning bud.
I will have to try and keep it in good condition.
Once it's foooked I'll have a go at adapting the stalk to take the Momo I really wanted.
