Remap will give best BHP per £££, think wisely, the intakes and filters are good but benefit with remap, why no to remap??

air filter, turbo back exhaust, turn down egr with vag com, methanol injection nitrous, but remap is the best

how does turning egr valve down gain more power?

i did a little research into this EGR valve last night.

from what i can tell, it allows the exhaust gasses back into the intake, presumabley to allow as much diesel to be burnt before going through the exhaust and into the atmsophere.

so presumably bypassing the valve only allows fresh clean air into the engine increasing combustion and thus more power!

but would this then increase emissions, possibly MOT failure?

as i said, i only looked into this last night so a techie may well come and set me straight on this!

on TDiCLUB forum, apparently a good clean of this EGR valve causes you motor to run a lot better and smoother!

going to be cleaning mine at the weekend! ;)

Pretty much yeah -

pros - smoother running, possible marginal increase in driveability, less soot

cons - higher emissions, possible slightly elevated fuel consumption

looking on the TDiCLUB forum, some of the pics showing the soot build up on EGR valves (some of which on cars with less than 40k miles) was quite an eye opener!

shall definately be giving mine a clean the weekend!
