mot fail on emmisions

evening,

my 2005 lcr failed its mot today on emmisions

heres part of the report:-

2nd fast idle test limit actual

speed 2450 2850 /min 2534 /min ok
co 0.3 %vol 0.46 %vol not ok
hc 200 ppm 31 ppm ok
lambda 0.97 1.03 1.00 ok

scanned for faults and got 17861-exhaust gas temp sensor, so before i spunk 180+ on a new one i want to be sure. firsts im going to check the connections on the plug for continuity and the earths under the battery tray. is there anything else i should be checking?

the car drives fine, no missfires, juddering , hesitating ect

just to close this off, i ended up cleaning the earths under the battery and scuttle panel and checked the wiring back to the ecu for continuity, cleared the faults and they did not reappear.
used some forte petrol tretment and a good italien tune up and it flew thru the mot after 18 months of being sorned.
