I turned it off - but apparently makes 0 difference to emissions.
Be brave :) I'm sure revo does nothing to the idling settings anyway.
 
I didn't turn mine off. I'm about to confirm mine's on again via my SPS 3 and sell the SPS 3 as I haven't used it since my mate gave it to me.
 
JKM will be doing mine next year if I still have the car (I like it, but with a new job 4 miles from the house and pool cars for business use it's not going to get as much use)
 
i left mine of and is passed :) well on emissions anyway, needed new rear brake pads, tahts it, happy with that
 
i have a remapped S3, i am also a MOT tester.

mine passes every time i try it on the Omitec 4 gas tester, and so does my mates remapped Golf Anni
 
It won't make any difference in theory.

MOT has nothing to do with how fast your car is. BUT... if the remap makes your engine run too richly, for example, then there is a slight slight possibility that your emissions will be out.

So, if you can turn it "off" easily then perhaps your engine will run more leanly and so less emissions. However, common thought on the subject says that a remap makes your engine more efficent. So less bad emissions. Perhaps.

I think I've covered my back enough there!

The worst for about MOT's is headlights & indicators. They WILL claim that your indicators weren't orange enough and charge you 5 quid a bulb to replace them. This is virtually standard practice at a lot of dodgy MOT places (not saying yours is dodgy ;) ) So you could save yourself a few quid and buy some new ones. Then when they say "Ooo, your indicators aren't good enough" you can produce a receipt for the new bulbs and slap them in the face with it.

Also worth checking your tyres. If the need doing - get them done first. They might charge you for another MOT if you take it away to get tyres fitted at a more resonable rate.

I've got a fair bit of experience in getting cars through MOT's! :)

in theory, every MOT tester should test to the same standards as it is very easy to be caught out if you are not careful. the company i work for, sends in mystery shoppers every month, on top of the constant harrasment from the ministry.
 
if you hold a white sheet of paper beside an indicator and it reflects the slightest shade of amber it can not be failed. dont take any **** of these villans. same with pads. they have to be less than 1.5mm. thats the edge of a 5 pence peice for quick refrence.
