Failed today :(

Failed on emissions and front nearside bush arm.

Garage next door is sorting it now. Just requires a smidging of weld on zaust and new bush thingy and jobs a good en.

So hopefully will be sorted in a few hours!

More bad ****ing news. Garage has rang!

Manifold is ****ed, so is the join near cat. Basically need a new exhaust front to back! Ring PCS, £226.20 (that includes VAT) for full exhaust system. That will be at garage at 8:15 2moz! Also oil has clogged the breather filer up. The engine is breathing in ****in oil! Need to find out why and what the problem is! And then there's the bush arm thing!

Thought things were goin a bit too well, as I've not spent any major money repairing the car for more than a year (last time it was a new gear box and cylinder/valve - dont remember exactly) and in total that set me back in excess of £600!

Proper pissed off now. Also cant go out tonight or even get to work Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and will probably spend most of next week (weeks holiday i booked), sat in house waiting for the good/bad news! (good - its fixed, bad - the cost!)

Even after all that, I'll still love that car!

**** it. its at garage now. thinking about it, coulda just nipped it to JBS or summat! only a 1.4, nor a cupra or owt, so doubt all the special stuff you guys are on about would make much difference!

ah be rate now. already paid for standard jobby!

proper pissed off now. feel sick to the stomach too! how can something with four wheels and an engine make you feel like this?

just thinking, bet its gonne cost another 500ish on top of what ive already paid! wish i'd took it to JBS instead and get performance parts added to. including stainless ;)

Ah its done now mate you can always make up for the power elsewhere for less money. I remember email pipercams about getting fast road cams for mine and they said they could reprofile mine for about £200 which would certainly make a diference in performance and you could get away with not declaring it on your insurance too

think it stands for Pauls Car Spares

Its a big place in clay cross. they're well known around derbyshire. they're kinda like a Unipart place, just order parts from em, then they'll deliver to garage

lol

they need to strip engine they reckon to see why it's breathin oil in or summat

mum just walked past garage now, says its off ramps, so exhaust must be done. She said bonnet was still up tho! Can't believe they've stayed till this time working on my car!

dunno if they've looked at engine tho. Guess not coz I've asked em to keep me updated

A new exhaust aint bad, count yourself its not a full rebuild which takes 2.5 months like somone i know.... lol.

yup know that one too lol

Mines actually getting the MOT done at the moment which it should pass bar 2 rear tyres I hope.......
Then it'll be up for sale

Just popped to the garage on way to work. Almost sorted it. Cost £180 - not as bad as I thought it would be! Said he saved me £400+ by doin summat to the manifold. Dunno what, was in a rush to get to work!

Anywho, alls done and should be through emissions test today, then i can pick it up after work!

Not but my backbox on tho. Said he'll get it through emissions then put it on!

Phone call from garage. Passed MOT now, and I quote

"It's £25 more than I said this morning! We've had to put in some really good spark plugs! But it's all sorted"

Sounds very technical :D  :D

So it's all sorted now \o/
