Moving on from LCR

Well after 2 1/2 years of LCR ownership which I've enjoyed thoroughly, I have decided to move on to something else, namely an Ebony black Audi A3 3.2 quattro sportback with DSG.

I test drove a number of cars inc the Focus ST (dull), New Civic Type R (really nice but too demanding after a turbo) and looked at the Astra VXR (too cramped inside) and the new Megane R26(just too ugly)

The Audi's probably not everybodys cup of tea but it fits my bill in that I'm fast approaching 40!!

Anyway I have a couple of weeks to sell the LCR or it goes in px.

I have a lot of mods including coilovers, antiroll bars and Carbon bonnet amongst others that I'm taking of the car first and I'll post them up in the for sale section when I get them off and sorted out.

Shame to see another LCR owner leave... but nice choice of car though. More laid back I think than the LCR, but a good car regardless :)

I think it's that time of year. Christmas is over, so money is slightly more free-flowing than it has been in past months. And it's not quite summer yet, so people aren't spending money on holidays. Plus with the new reg's being released a few days ago there will be loads of good second hand deals around at the moment.

March/April and Sept/Oct are good times to buy cars :)

How much is the 3.2 A3 setting you back as I've been looking at them too

Well, I've sat behind my computer and noticed lots of LCR owners sell up recently and said to myself I wouldn't be one of them as I luv it and still do!.
However I think with the prices dropping to a level where the car opens up to a whole new market, the time is right for me after 2 1/2 yrs to move on.

I looked at the new cupra in the flesh and It doesn't have the same appeal to me that the old LCR does.

As for the A3, the build quality is way above the Seat and the interior shouts quality. The DSG gearbox is something else and mated to the 3.2V6 and 4 wheel drive it feels a nice package:thumbup:, although maybe a little dull compared to the Leon, however there's no more struggling for grip like in the LCR.

The car I'm getting is an 05 plate with plenty of extra' s and is costing me around the same as a new Cupra would without any options. It also had an original list price of just under £30k:-o

I didn't say they had to be big, flashy wheels! ;) Just some slightly larger OE style Audi wheels. RS6 wheels perhaps. Would be the finishing touch on an already good looking car and would still stay a bit of a sleeper :)

Yeah I quite like the wheels but no doubt some 18's or 19's will be on the way before too long.

Options include:- DSG gearbox, spoiler kit (front and rear lips and skirts),parking sensors, upgrade stereo, 6 disc changer, centre armrest and some others I think but I can't remember, Options came to about £4.5k. It seems most are well spec'd up by original buyers, they must have money to burn:rolleyes:
I don't get the car for a couple of weeks as I wanted time to take the mods off.

Don't want to go off topic but I'll have Coilovers, Eibachs, Dynatwist, Samco's, Carbon Bonnet, Stereo equipment and some interior goodies.

I'll post up in the For Sale section when I get them off and checked

Nice choice of car mate, I must admit I think when the time comes to trade in my LCR it will be something with the VAG 3.2 V6 engine under the bonnet, the sound of the V6 is just :-o :worship:

Yeah, didn't get much chance to open it up much on the test drive, but the V6 is nice, same engine as the R32 but with supposedly 247bhp instead of 240
Never been a fan of automatics but the DSG box is in a different league, seamless fast gearchanges and it even blips the throttle on downshifts, how cool is that[B)]
