Ok I recently filled my tank to top I lost my receipt though but it was 109.9p per litre and it cost me like £57 to fill tank so far I have done about 210 mile and have pretty much half a tank left so with that assumption gonna be looking at about 400 mile to a tank, does this sound right? I am doing just town driving and getting stuck in traffic sometimes.

well drove from merthyr to manchester (awsome GTI ) fro my full decat milltek and the gauge just crept under full when i got there and this was 80-90 all the way

on the way home tho i went north wales way through the twistys etc and used practically the rest of the tank

but in answer to your questions , theres alot of factors to take into account you could have a doggy maf or something

plust town driving aint gona get you the megga miles , if im enthusiastic for about 50-60 miles i got chew a 10er straight away

I find that even if I'm nailing it in 4th / 5th gears the fuel is pretty good and I get decent mpg.

It's whenever have to get into 1st or 2nd gear for a prolonged period that I see my fuel just drop before my eyes!

Now my petrol 1.4 ibiza mk3 was the other way around, was great around town and get briliant mpg in traffic, but take it on open roads and start nailing it in the higher gears and it just drank the fuel!

I love my diesel! :)

I've got the same 110 engine and on our pre-Xmas run I made it from London to York (around 200 miles) on around 1/3 tank with 2 people and a few days luggage. That was in foggy/snowy conditions but still motorway speeds for the most part. And however much the climate control affects fuel consumption.

The journey back drank around half the tank though - because they filled the poor girl up with more stuff than I thought possible :)
