Hello, hoping someone can help me with some detail about the MyCupra app.
I have a new Terramar V2 (UK, 26 plate). Since I've had it, there have been issues with not being able to register as the Primary User. After multiple factory resets, and endless emails, I've just had it back after it went back to the dealership for a fortnight, where they had to work with the factory where the cars are made to get some new code created and uploaded into the car. I'm now registered as the Primary User, but, the My Cupra app has zero functionality - nothing at all.
When I open it, it opens on the screen with the 'Become Primary User' button but also has my account details and shows me as logged in. If you click Become Primary User, it goes through the motions and says its updating my vehicle information and and I'll soon be able to enjoy the app, but then just reverts back to the first screen, so you go round in a circle.
The dealership have told me that's just how the app works on petrol Terramars and it only has other functions on the hybrid of electric versions. From what I can find online, that's just not true and I think they're just saying that because they don't want to spend more time trying to sort it out.
Whilst there are functions specific to hybrid/electric models, the app should still work and have functionality for petrol cars.
Before I go back to the dealership to complain yet again, can anyone help me with what I should be expecting to see or be able to do on the app with a petrol model.
Thanks in advance.

Google "mycupra app functionality on petrol vehicles uk" for a list of functions. I've only used it on EV's so can't help further.

Core Functionality for Petrol Models
    • Remote Locking and Unlocking: Check if your car's doors are locked and secure them remotely from your phone.
    • Vehicle Status: View the current mileage, fuel level, driving range, and whether windows or lights were left open.
    • Parking and Location: Automatically save your car's final parking spot and view walking directions back to it. You can also flash the lights or sound the horn remotely.
    • Route Planning: Send planned destinations and routes straight from the My CUPRA App to your car's built-in navigation.
    • Vehicle Alerts: Receive security notifications, speed alerts, or area alerts if someone else is driving the vehicle.
    • Journey Statistics: Review driving data, trip times, and average fuel efficiency after a journey. [1, 2]

Thank you - yes that's what I've found online too, and I'm sure the app should be doing more than just going round in circles. The dealership have said that it doesn't do anything on petrol models other than send updates to the car, so I'm hoping to go back to them to confidently challenge that knowing someone else with a petrol model has confirmed it should be doing all of the above.
I've tried deleting the app, reinstalling it and logging out and in again etc, but no change.

Please do not misquote me. I only looked it up on Google (and wouldn't have bothered if you had mentioned that you already done it)

I have ONLY used the App on an Electric Vehicle (EV) and I have NO actual knowledge of its functionality on an Internal Combustion Engined (ICE) vehicle.

Thanks

Understood - sorry, I wasn't clear that I realised you were an EV owner, but appreciate you looking that info up.
