Hi,

My lovely Leon Cupra is not very well.

It was fine this morning, but when I started it after work it immediately was very rough and sounding a bit like a diesel (CHUG CHUG CHUG). After about 30 seconds, the Excessive Pollution/Diagnosis light started blinking at me.

Car felt very gutless to drive and was certainly down on power (limp mode?)

At home, I lifted the hood and the engine was physically shaking in quite a scary manner, really.

I've done some forum searches, and my guess here would be that one of the coil packs has gone (hopefully anyway - simple to fix!). Any other input?

The car is still under the full "parts and service" warranty so I presume I should be able to get this fixed for free tommorrow at a dealer!

I took this down to Wiltshire & Sons in Farnham this morning.

It was a dodgy coil pack (phew, something simple), and under the warranty they have actually replaced all four of them. So I guess they were still the dodgy brand in the car! (2002 model)

So, I'm happy!
