I think it will be very interesting once you get the cooling issues sorted out... should sustain the power a little

who's is it mapped by?
standalone or OE ecu?

OE ECU, on a sort of Revo stage 3 dev code IIRC.

I know they're not happy with it because of the IC...

kinda waiting on me to finish tho..... so they can map it on a properly equipped wagon

well i researched every part i needed for this setup and from the reviews and all the feedback from the guys at vortex i assumed that this IC was a very good bang for buck.

though on the road it is good due to the chilled breeze.

besides i dont really rate the forge IC much TBH, IMO the standard piping is rubbish, and also going over the manifold isnt such a great idea.

this is the reason i went for eurojet over forge.

Yup - just had some setbacks like xmas bill

myk3 - what do you base your guess on that the forge isn't up to it?

I mean, you've not fitted or owned it - and not flow tested the OE pipework? Clearly you took the advice of a moron that told you that the big SMIC would work - when clearly the surface area of air that can actually get to it is minimal.

Just because someone on a forum says it will work, doesn't mean it won't

I think the LC forge unit is only expected to work to 300bhp, but I have a plan for that anyway.

well near all the yanks must be morons then, go speak to them, when i said that i am getting a EJ to replace the SMIC they where shocked, a guy even said to me he would do a streight swap for his FMIC, though he is in the USA so this is not possible.

i seen over 30 posts of praises to the SMIC even those running 300WHP, some with the APR stage 3.

also i dont think the forge unit is worth 7-800 to the 500 i got mine for.

depends really on how you look at it...

Yanks know FA sometimes (not saying I'm any better, but they'll all jump on a bandwagon & claim it all works)

Common sense will tell you that the SMIC design is heavily flawed. I mean it's tucked up out of the way.

EJ looks like a smaller core, but at the end of the day anything will give you a serious improvement.

It's the old addage again though, buy cheap, buy twice (or more) - you pay for quality & support (or not in your case)

the core area itelf isnt much bigger, its much the same, plus no heat from the scortching hot manifold is a good plus.

i guess i cant do nothing right, and every thing i seem to say is bolox inc all the stuff i buy. so ill just shut up.

NO, it's interesting to read.... but it's frustrating when you make statements about stuff based upon heresay.

dont worry about it. anyways, what is the situation with your leon project, is the inlet still fouling? if the turbo swang round clockwise about 5mm or so would this miss the gearbox?

Parts unknown...
each to their own - it could be a masterstroke OR it could bite him in the a##...but trial and error is a healthy part of progress

still needs swinging round to clear, but I might see if the inlet could be modded as that might be better

in my case i had a problem with one of the studs not going place as it needed to swing round a bit more to directlyscrew in to the hole.

i found that i had to grind the manifold at the bottom left and use the supplied allen bolt.

remove a bracket that is held on to the block with 1 allen screw, this holds the speedo wire in position, and the comp housing was hitting this.

smack the block to transmition gasket that stuck out about 3mm with a hammer, as the comp housing was hitting this.

one of these could be stopping the compressor being able to swing round the extra few mm you need.

myk3 - Where did you get your injectors from?

Do genesis do the same ones with that spray pattern in 475cc ?

Cheers
