Hi everyone,

I just returned home from the garage, having a new useless feature :giggle: that I've been considering for a long time.

I found this garage that offers the service of applying electrostatic paint to the brake calipers and I decided to go for it.
The color code is RAL 1003, named signal yellow. The other color I was considering was the classic Cupra copper but yellow seemed more attractive.

They claimed that the brake specialists they are working with is the best in neighbourhood but it didn't prove correct.
These so-called specialists couldn't manage to bleed the brakes correctly after refilling the hydraulic fluid and now I have a looong travelling spongy brake pedal.

I changed my route to home to pay a visit to my local dealer right at the time they were closing for the day, told them the story and they promised to get that brake pedal to the way it felt before, first thing tomorrow morning.

Anyway, I won't let this small glitch spoil the fun of having something new, I believe it will be corrected as if nothing happened. 🙏

Cheers,
Serdar

I really like those 😎.

Picking up on your wheels discussion topic (https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/th...-colors-for-my-winter-tire-set-please.480581/), I wonder if the yellow callipers would clash with the copper coloured alloys? From your pictures in the first post of this discussion topic, IMHO the yellow callipers work well with your existing wheels, so should work equally well with the non-copper coloured version of the two wheel options you’re considering for your winter tyres.

Thank you very much for sharing your opinion on the wheel colour 🙏🏻

After seeing the yellow calipers live behind my silver & black wheels, I thought exactly the same. Because of my long-running taste of wheel colour, I was already leaning towards the non-copper one. Now it's decided, I guess ☺️

Yes the yellow looks the best choice for those wheels, well done. Hope you get the soft pedal sorted as the be looks must come second to the performance.

Hi, you're right of course.

Next morning I went to my local dealer and they checked the whole brake system for leaks and they didn't see any problem, except some air that those so-called brake specialists couldn't manage to bleed completely. They were still using classic bleeding method of pumping the pedal with foot but the dealer uses a machine for the job and it proved to be more precise than the manual method. Now my brakes are better but I guess my perception of the brake feel is somehow affected in this process and I'm still not sure if the brakes are as good as it was before.

Two different mechanics at the specialist garage tried the bleeding five or six times in total. The first one wanted my help at the driver's seat to pump the brake pedal on his command, while he was bleeding each wheel. I wasn't sure how much farther I should push the pedal, he said push it all the way you can. And I did that maybe 50 times in total, ten or more for each wheel. Later two other mechanics came and they did it themselves while I was watching. They pumped the brakes much more slowly and pushed it much less than I did. Now I wonder that if those deep pushes that are never expected on a brake mechanism might have caused an unwanted amount of pressure and damaged, maybe the seals of the master cylinder, or something else.
