My Leon, Need Ideas

Ive got a 1.4 Mk1 Leon, as my first car, im keeping it for a year and just want to make it look respectable, heres my ideas and any other from you guys will be appreciated:

- Alloys, Cupra r or RS4's
- Get the plastic parts on front and back bumper painted black as i dont want to spend over £1000 for just a year on a cupra r kit.
- 40mm lowering.
-Tints
I may get the cupra r kit if i have enough cash, but you guys think this will be okay and as i said any ideas will be helpful as i am all ears.
Thanks

whats wrong with it standard. why not save your money for next year when you get your next car??? but if your not happy with it then what your planning sounds good. take it your after looks rather than performance. so id go for a fabia back wiper and areo front wipers. smaller ariel and mayby spray your front and back seat badges black. then de-badge the back alltogether. these are the cheap lil mods i have done

how old are you mate?

personally I would save for a cupra

some good deals going around, pre face lifts are going cheap or you could save a little more for a cupra R

I agree with jordyboy, save your pennies if your only keeping it a year,it will fly by anyway and youll have more to spend on your next 1

but the cupras will kill him on insurance.

dont bother with power mods.
go for making best use of what you have, handling is the key, if you make it handle well, then any other similar powered cars wont keep up.

id go for.

shocks and springs
rear arb
s3 lower brace
s3 upper brace
new top mounts
new wishbone bushes, or tt bushes if yours will take them.

spray your bits like you said.

keep it standard cosmetically mate, no point making it look fast.

no need for induction kit either.

handling is the key my friend on lower powered cars.

maybe spend some on some alloys, but dont go bigger as they will weigh more, especially rs6 reps, and slow you down.

good luck mate, happy modding im sure youll enjoy the 1.4 despite crys to save for a cupra... this will come mate

i agree that a cupra would kill him on insuranse at 18 19,unless he was bending the rules slightly..........like mayb having a traders policy..........or being insured as a named driver lol

Yea ive also been looking into new shocks, im going to get all my mods done and put the alloys on after a couple of weeks after i pass so i dont kurb them straight away, i was thinking of getting a FR before cupra so i can handle the insurance.

Thanks for the help awsell guys, always looking into new ideas.

like i said mate, that year will fly by,if you can, just drive the car for a year, try not to crash it,get your years no claims, save your money and put it towards your next 1,BUT its your choice lol

good luck what ever road you decide to choose, even tho i advise you not to mod this 1 it is alot of fun doing it!!

Oh ok cheers, i much prefer the Cupra R wheels to the normal FR ones, on the FR+ you get LCR wheels but only in 17" yea?

Yea, your car is red yea? i like the red and white colour combination. iv got the money now to get rims and get the plastic parts sprayed so just got to find the right place to do it and to decide on what alloys to get

Personally I wouldnt go for the cupra r wheels as the price there going to cost you its not worth it im in exactly same boat as you learning passed my theory got test in few weeks and ive got a 1.4 leon but mines in black :D i've got my wheels ready to be put on once ive passed and not kerbed for a while haha ive got a set of mak xtreme 17" look pretty nice and are half the price of the cupra r's another nice mod you might want to do on the fairly cheap side but massive impact in looks is getting the cupra front upper grills make sure you dont get the cupra r ones though as they are different size to what you would need but they make it look so much better being honeycomb instead of slates

i just bought a replacement front upper honeycomb grill what a pain to fit, it comes as one whole unit that attaches to the bumper which means taking the bumper off. not an easy job as i first expected.

sounds a bit dodgy it looks like it would be an easy job but i might have to give that one a pass :s
