Picked her up today. Only 9 miles on the clock before I picked her up.

I'm loving the ice silver colour now it SHINES!!! Lovely.

Superb ride with the 17" alloys and sports suspension, and the sports seats are very comfy.

LOVING it so far!

LOL. I think it's the way it is with the suspension as standard. I'm sure I saw a thread someone esle posted about a sportrider (or similar FR or something with sports suspension) where they could get a fist between wheel and arch!! LOL So it's not just mine...

They did lower theirs though. I don't think I'll be modding mine really.

Ah right ok, probably just a little bit stiffer rather than lower and stiffer. I personally find the ride is quite stiff as it is but the ride heigh is ridiculous looking! I've a late 09 Ibiza SC 1.4 with the 17" wheels, tints etc. only got a fwe mods on it such as the honeycomb FR grille, gloss black mirrors, Cupra headlamps and tailgate spoiler. Haven't spent big money on it really :) it'll do til I can afford to change up again

Ahh ha it was your thread. Forgot it was a Cupra!!

Wow that looks even higher than mine!!

I'd not have noticed really as I've never really been into modding and lowering that much... but now you've pointed it out I'm gonna notice it all the time.

Just have to get something very heavy in the boot... LOL

Looks awesome, very nice choice! Making me tempted to upgrade mine

How come it has an Ecomotive badge on the back? Thought that was only the diesels.

It's got the 1.2TSI which comes with Ecomotive tech - i.e. start-stop and regenerative braking. So it's supposed to make 55mpg combined.

Not sure it really does that, but even so already it's looking better than my old 1.4 on fuel. It's quite a lot of fun to drive though which means I may be heavy footed.

The Start-stop is pretty cool. The engine is very quiet so you hardly realise it's turned itself off. As soon as you put your foot on the clutch it's running again. Very nice. It only does it if you take it out of gear and put it in neutral though, not if you sit with the clutch in.

You could buy some nice 18" wheels & list your 17" on ebay. . . ;);)

Very nice! Delivery day is just wonderful - that first time you move off and leave the dealership, then you get to put your foot down and feel what she can do! I was like 'Wooah!' when I felt that turbo!! I also love the comfy 'huggy' sports seats in mine! Interestingly, mine is a 11 plate Sport 1.2TSI and I don't have the 'ecomotive' badge on the back, but my brother's 60 plate 1.2TSI SE does! The silver is lovely but my last car was silver and I had my heart set on a white car!:D

Thanks, it's nice either if I'm just taking it easy on cruise control on the motorway or smoking off some boy racers...

LOL - well not really but there were some young chaps in some sort of saloon car checking the Ibiza out this evening at some traffic lights on the way home. I deliberately didn't look at them which is why I don't know what kind of car it was!!

Lol! You need to change your profile pic and sig! It's a lovely car to drive though and it's so much faster and more responsive than my old slug (sorry, Corsa 1.2)! What mpg are you seeing? The most I've had was 60.1 or 61, can't remember which!

LOL DONE!!!

Not sure on MPG, as I've only done about 90 miles so far so the readings are screwed up still!! Instant readings vary wildly but cruising on the motorway at about 70 it seems to be about 43mpg or so... but that moves about quite a lot.

Scared me a bit today - a warning light came on on the dash. I guessed it was "defective bulb" and checked the manual and it was that... which I was a bit annoyed at as I only got it yesterday... but on the way home it seemed fine and I don't think there are actually any defective bulbs... must have just been a hiccup. (I hope).

Shame to see the little 1.4 go as a fellow owner of the same car ;)
But this is nice. You say you won't be modding it, but lowerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Ordered the exact same spec yesterday! The 1 I've ordered is a DSG, which is yours?

Even more excited now I've seen the pictures of yours!
You got any pictures of the interior, as I can't seem to find any good 1s!

My delivery is around the 7th to the 11th November hopefully! Can't wait! :D

Mine is the non-DSG. Couldn't quite stretch to that.

It's a lovely, lovely car though. I keep seeing it in the driveway and can't quite beleive it's mine!!

It's a bit dirty already though, but the silver colour hides it well.

I'm getting it properly valeted and sealed with sealant in a couple of weeks time (after my wedding/honeymoon etc is all over).

Here's some photos of the interior.

Thanks for the interior pics, wasn't to sure if it would have the silver bits on the steering wheel, as sat in a FR and that had black plastic!

Not sure wether to buy the aluminium dash decorative accessory for it?

Up to 299 miles as I pulled into the driveway this evening on it's first tank of fuel (309 miles total mileage on the car). Fuel light just went on and it reckoned 40 miles to go. The fuel calculator reckons an average of 35mpg and it is only the very first full tank of fuel put through. Certainly on my old car I only got over 300 miles from a tank when it was a long journey so it is already doing better.

Considering I spent a good 10-15 minutes this morning crawling at a walking pace up a hilly lane to take the OH to work, it also should be considered as a lot of urban driving too rather than cruising. The average speed for my 1:15min trip to work this morning was 18mph...LOL!!

Have to say I was seriously impressed with the crawling uphill at less than 1000rpm ability of this little 1.2L petrol engine. In my old car I'd have been on and off the clutch, revving it trying to avoid it stalling. This one has much more torque from much lower down the rev range so it was quite happy sitting at about 900rpm crawling at about 3mph up a hill with the clutch fully out and barely any accelerator. Well impressed with that from a tiny petrol engine!
