Hey bud not sure who this is meant for but I just keep mine in comfort.

It was for anybody mate. Yeah I normally just have it in comfort but I’m trying eco see if I’m any MPG better off, it’s just a pain you have to select it every time you start the engine.

I don't know how you're driving on a new engine, but I averaged 8.5 km/litre on the delivery run (1000km, not babying it) when I picked it up. Since then it's averaged 10.1 km/litre mixed city and highway.

I’ve no idea how you’re seeing these **** returns on the mpg !

I’ve taken delivery of my new Cupra 290 Lux last week and I’ve been driving it quite abit but I cannot help but to notice the bad fuel economy I’m receiving from it, when I’m driving in comfort getting around town I’m averaging 16mpg and on motorways I’m averaging around 21mpg, has anyone else got this issue? The only thing i can think as to why this is happening is because i haven’t done over 1,000 miles in my car yet?

I'm getting similarly poor mpg figures on my new one as well? Definitely nowhere near the 40 that some are getting?

Also don't seem to be getting any of the exhaust pops and bangs at all so wondering if you're having similar issues during its low mileage stage? Have read it will get better as the miles increase?

I have no pops and bangs whatsoever - pretty boring IMO ( especially after coming from all the noise in my A45 ! )

How many miles has it done? I'm around 400 and it's just started coming to life, you'll need the fake engine noise turned off or it drowns out the real noise. Engine needs to be nice and hot and in cupra mode, mine now pops and crackles when dropping down through gears.

I'm at around 700 miles now and still not getting anything? How do you turn the fake engine noise off? Might give that a go.

I've got obdeleven with that's it just a case of pressing a button. Some other guys have lifted the scuttle panel and unplugged it, I'm sure I've seen pictures on here showing how to do that.

Does Cupra mode actually make any difference to exhaust pops and bangs? Then again, I have an ST which makes no exhaust noise at all.

Yeah because it drops and changes gears at higher revs, the higher the revs the more noise is made, if you have any local roads with a wall running next to it take a drive past that in cupra mode and the engine hot and let it slow and drop a gear with the window down and you'll hear noise.

I've went from a 184 diesel FR that obviously made ZERO noise into the cupra and the exhaust definetly has a nice boom from it even at normal driving.

Drop a gear earlier than you normally would and let it slow or tick over itself and it should come to life.

Agreed. Even if I'm driving like a bit of a wally, it's not often I get below 30mpg on anything but a very short journey. 40mpg is quite achievable on a long run. That's a manual ST.
