Haha fair enough. I’m dubious that they have added LEDs, even though it’s such an obvious feature to include. Let us know!
Mine definitely does not light up at night (MY22). My camera picked up exactly same sensors but not to naked eye. There is nowhere in settings on lighting etc to change this as far as I can work out. Massive oversight...still at least I can keep saying 'hola hola I'm cold' like an idiot until temperature up (1 degree at a time) rather than scrabble around in the dark leaving fingerprints everywhere!

Hey guys,

Yesterday I went to my Cupra dealer (long term lease, official dealer in Italy) to take a look to the car, arrived after less than 3 months of wait (almost full optional, diesel dsg).
My version is definitely MY22, he told me that newest upgrades are for sure:

- leather panels all around the doors where there are the button to open windows, smooth and good looking
- the internal "sky" of the car is dark grey or black in my case (car still almost covered) dunno if the headlining you are referring is that, maybe you can send some photos so I understand
- the air conditioning commands for rear passengers, between the seats, are no more buttons but a sensitive touch illuminated with a slightly different design, very beautiful to look

Next week I will post some photos when I'll be in possession

Cheers

I checked my rear air con panel this morning and as mine is MY22, also has the touch sensitive pane like the front. It makes the decision not to have lighting on the front panel even more stupid when he rear panel is lit up!!!

Interesting on that basis mine is MY21 even though I only took delivery two days ago! My rear AC are buttons! (VZ2 with black headlining).
VZ2 will come standard with black headlining. It was only the V1 & V2 they changed from black to grey unfortunately.

It may have been posted before, the definitive way to check the MY is from the VIN. The tenth character is a number, so M = 2021 and N = 2022.

So if I have got this right the V2 is now dearer with less spec, sounds about right

You can spend about €7 per hour and use Erwin to get the build codes, always fun looking at them and the technical manuals (equivalent to Haynes manuals of old but targeted at the workshop).

If you do not trust your dealer ?. Formentor is listed. Do your own research on the car once you get the VIN number. Build codes tie into the VCDS systems so if running checks or tinkering with the bits you can tinker with they go hand in hand.

Beginners guide here to Erwin, you have to stumble threw getting your address in European style for the credit card payment but other than that:

Probably should reckon on a couple of hours trawling and downloading PDFs. Ateca I did in an hour, Arona two. Screens can be idiosyncratic.

V2 is about £800 dearer but still has same spec as previously with the addition of the heated steering wheel on DSG models and the headlining has changed from black to grey, everything else is as it was.

Thought the MY21 had heated steering wheel as standard, seem to have seen a few with manual gearbox.

There’s a couple of new colours added to the list (a metallic white and metallic blue), and more optional extras available.

Black headlining changes to grey on V1 and V2 and heated steering wheel on V1 and V2 DSG models (although sure it was already standard on MY21 V2 DSG). Not sure what’s changed spec wise on other models.
I thought that too, as I mentioned at the start of the thread, although the MY21 V1 manual I had a test drive in didn’t have a heated steering wheel and had the voice thing button in its place.

When I confirmed the changes with my dealer that was the only thing he said had been added after confirming the MY22 direct with Cupra as I ordered my car on 1st July the day the MY22 was released.

I'm not sure about the panels around the buttons, that looks the same to me

That is the black headlining. The pan roof is only available with the black headlining no matter what the model variant.
This is apparently what the grey headlining looks like on UK V1 and V2 trims
That's the first I've seen a picture of the grey headlining in an actual car. It's not anywhere near as nice as the black, and don't know why they changed it on the V1 & V2, but I suppose will get used to it.
