Hi all,

ordered a Cupra 280 DSG, registered Sept 2014, and it already has what seems like the standard Nav System. The screen seems a bit on the small side, and knowing that the new Mirrorlink system is upon us, was wondering if anyone has researched if the Nav System High can be retrofitted? Assuming myself that it should use the same connections etc as the existing sat nav in the Cupra?

I was wondering exactly the same thing. It's likely to be very expensive to but the unit though I'd have thought. I hope someone can shed some light on this.

Well couple of Cupra drivers over here in the Netherlands already (including me) tried that but the dealers said it can't be done.
I think it can but they don't know how to integrate it into the Can-Bus system and the rest of the car's electronics.
Also I have no clue what the costs woud be if it was possible.

given that it was a £1000 upgrade for a new car. I'd hate to know how much they would want for it as a retrofitted option including fitting!!!!
Totally not worth it. Will wait for my next car which by then should be Mirrorlink as standard.

well, the rns-510 was also a 1300 quid option on my vrs, which i paid at the time. Skoda and VW don't offer it as an accessory install. didn't stop me from retrofitting it to my vw touran at the time... and didn't cost a grand either. 400 quid on ebay at the time for the latest model... was a 15 minute install as well. you see them for even less now.;) there are a lot of retrofit sites, so i will be keeping an eye out to see who starts offering them. that should indicate whether it can or not be done

speak to Alex at AlexRetrofits to see if it can be done as he offers MIB1 to MIB2 and screen upgrades for the mk7 golf. Can find him on Facebook

I'd be interested to know if he can do it too as my car is an MY 15 with MDI which is a bit old hat now

yes it can but its ££££, Alex can only retrfit a certain unit and finding them 2nd hand is hard.

How much is ££££ roughly as I'd be willing to go around £1k to get a better system than std nav as it's pretty rubbish even compared to the ssd spec rns510 I had in my golf
