If that's £140 fitted then you're talking £35 a tyre. Even if he's supplied them at trade price and charged no labour for fitting that's very cheap! I'd be pointing towards the tyres being your issue and not any other part of the suspension. Take your car somewhere else and get some decent tyres fitted.

Could well be another case of 'buy cheap, buy twice'

Never cheap out on tyres, it will always be a false economy. The best way to improve any car is to sort the rubber out. The opposite is also true. Bad tyres could be very dangerous and work out expensive in the long run.

Go get some proper tyres from a reputable tyre fitter. I would recommend Goodyear Asymmetric Eagle F1s or similar.

Vibration at high speed is likely to be wheel balancing being out or very badly worn tyres. If these tyres are as bad as suggested above, it may be that they just can't be balanced properly, itself dangerous.

Aim for £140 per tyre, not all in!

Good idea, put the old ones back, find a good deal on quality tyres all round and get them when you can. Some places do discounts when you buy 4, kwikfit used to do 25% off, others might have similar deals from time to time.

Decent tyres might just save your life one day. 'Ditch finders' are called so for a reason.

The humming noise I'm getting that could be due to obviously cheap tyres but with **** noise control

Are they directional tyres and been fitted back to front?
