does anyone know if this will be any good, or is it likely to do more harm than good? I don't want to make the swirls worse than they are already.

Its a cheap rotary - in the wrong hands it will cause a lot of damage. For £20 its a decent enough buy, but you get what you pay for - My Metabo is £175 and you get a whole lot more than just a name.

I would strongly recommend getting some tuition on it, or at the very least practice on some scrap panels before going near your pride and joy. It takes some mastering.

just got mine (father in law knows manager of local store so got it early) top buy for 20 notes but only comes with thin rubber pad with velcro on and a very soft wool cover but still for 20 notes its top.can one of you pro detailers tell me where to buy good pads for it it says spindle thread is size M16 if that helps thanks

most i have seen seem to be M14 spindle. might be worth some research tonight before camping out in front of the shop in the wee hours.
